Sarah Cossey

B.A., B.Mus., A.Mus.A.(Piano), Dip.Ed

Sarah commenced her piano studies at the age of 5, learning piano from her mother, Catherine Cossey, until the age of 11 when she began lessons with Laurice Boak. Under Laurice's guidance Sarah was awarded her Associate in Music (AMusA) and was accepted into Melbourne University, Conservatoire of Music, to pursue her career in piano studies under the guidance of Igor Machlak, and later Olga Khartinaova. Sarah completed a Bachelor of Music from the University of Melbourne in Piano performance concurrently with a Bachelor of Arts (Art History and Literature) in 2011 and in 2012 was awarded a Diploma of Education from Monash University. Sarah has also studied classical ballet to an advanced level, primarily with Lynne McNabb and Rosemary Frost, achieving examination success with the Royal Academy of Ballet and Cecchetti Ballet Australia.

Sarah continues to explore her passions for music and dance. In addition to her career as a secondary school teacher Sarah works as a pianist for ballet classes and exams, an instrumental and vocal accompanist and a piano teacher. She also freelances as a character dance teacher and choreographer with Ringwood Ballet Group, Lehenda Ukrainian Dance Company and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Victoria

Sarah is a regular performer with the Regional Chamber Ballet where the piano trio she performs with accompanies regionally based ballet dancers across regional Victoria.

Sarah and Adrian Glaubert, our classical and contemporary vocal teacher, also perform together as a vocal duo with keyboard, specialising in low key classical and acoustic music. 

Sarah offers professional piano accompaniment services and teaches piano at our Seaford location from her home studio but is happy to travel to teach at your desired location for an additional fee.
